Blue Bottle Fly

As odd as it sounds, I really had fun photographing this little guy. Although he sat still while I set up multiple flashes, I was certain he would fly at the first burst of light. He didn't, and I took multiple shots of him from different angles. Later, when I looked up which fly he was, I learned how fun the Blue Bottle Fly really is: the Audubon Society Field Guide on Insects describes it's habitat as, ". . . near decaying meat, exposed flesh wounds, and dung." What fun!
