I was driving up to Ruby Lake National Wildlife Refuge in Nevada when I came across these Horses. It was an exceptionally hot day and I was driving on a dirt road; the heat and the constant din and vibration of the road were slowly putting me to sleep. At one point, I numbly looked to my right and saw all of these horses running around. Being mostly brain-dead at the moment, it took me nearly a minute to realize that I was near a National Wildlife Refuge, that there were no fences, and that these were the famous wild-horses known to run freely on public lands in Nevada. The one mare, obviously the leader of this clan, danced and pranced them around, putting on a show of their beauty and strength. It was like I was watching a trained group at a rodeo or circus. Instead, I was sitting on the top on my civic, by myself, in a parched desert at noon.
